Documenting life as a brown female, navigating her way through the creative industries
What does being brown entail? In current times where there is a growing strong black culture, rightly so might I add, what does it mean to fall in between the gaps? For me, Brown is all inclusive it’s anything other it champions all shades. It’s worth noting that prejudices within ethnic minorities against one another exists. I’m advocating we raise one another up, in order for one to rise doesn’t mean another group must be stifled.
Brown is me taking ownership of my identity. Something I’ve not always been comfortable with.
To be a brown female is a double barrel hit. Not only do I fight against the male dominated creative industry I work in but also the predominantly whiteness of it. This is my journey into an exploration of everything Brown.
